Transmission Services- SUNYSAT Teleport
"The Power of Global Communication"
New York Network’s satellite teleport, located on Washington Avenue, across from The University at Albany, is the "backbone" of New York Network's transmission services.
And since 1988, it has reached out to all 64 campuses with a satellite network called SUNYSAT. Today, we’ve increased our full time satellite transmission capabilities from one channel KU-band analog service, to nine digital channels on one transponder. This upgrade gives our clients the power of global communication in an ever-changing digital climate.
There are currently over 300 dedicated SUNYSAT receive sites across New York State capable of receiving our digital signal, including all 64 State University campuses. Beyond this, our satellite capacity also includes a Ku-band analog transmission option as well, giving our clients the ability to take their message anywhere in the world.
Features of our satellite transmission service:
-
Full time six channel MPEG-2 DVP compliant M.C.P.C (multi channel per carrier).
-
