Directions and Parking Information

From the South:   
Take the NYS Thruway to Exit 23 . Go North on I-787 two miles to the Empire State Plaza exit. Proceed to parking areas.

West:   
NYS Thruway to Exit 24 . Continue east on I-90 to I-787 South exit (5 miles approx). Take I-787 to the Empire State Plaza exit.

North:   
Take the Northway (I-87) to Exit 2 East (I-90 - NYS Thruway exit). Continue east on I-90 to I-787 South exit (5 miles approx). Take I-787 to the Empire State Plaza exit.    

East:    
I-90 to I-787 South. Take I-787 to the Empire State Plaza exit.

Parking   

State owned Public Parking Areas: (SEE MAP ABOVE)

You will need a photo ID for parking and possibly to enter Empire State Plaza building. 

• V Lot (P-3 North Area) - Is located under the Empire State Plaza in underground Parking Level 3 ($8.00/day - subject to availability and only $2.00/after 1:00 pm). This lot is “v”” for Visitors and is convenient to the NY Network. You will see the sign for this lot as you drive under the Plaza.
   Make sure you note what level and row you are parked in. Find the nearest elevator and take it to "C" Concourse level. Go towards Madison Avenue end of the Concourse. NY Network is located at that end on the right side just before you go up the stairs to the Street.
  
• P-1 North Area - Empire State Plaza Underground Parking Level 1 (oversized vehicles in excess of 6' 6").
  
• Cathedral Parking Lot - Is located on Madison Ave. East of Cultural Education Center which is the left side as you face the Center($7.00/day – subject to availability and costs $2.00 after 1:00 pm & free after 2:00 pm) This lot is also very convenient to NY Network, but is not covered parking garage. 
  IF you drive in under the Empire State Plaza, just drive all the way through and take the u-turn to your left. Then drive as though you are going back out towards the Hudson River. There will be a parking entrance on your right just before leaving the Empire State Plaza. It is P-1 South. Take this entrance and follow it to Madison Avenue. You will come out right in front of the entrance to the Cathedral parking lot. Just cross over Madison Avenue to the parking lot.  
  
• Bus Parking Lot - Madison Avenue west of Cultural Education Center.
• Grand Street Surface Lot - Grand Street, northeast side of ESP East Parking garage.

Privately owned Public Parking Areas:

• Pepsi Arena Parking Garage - Access from South Pearl Street ramp to Empire State Plaza (Market St., right on Eagle Street to Parking garage entrance ($7.50/day.)

Other areas:

• Metered Parking on Madison Avenue / State Street
• Private Lot on Swan Street (just off Madison Ave.)

Walking directions from Downtown Albany

From the West:
Proceed down Madison Avenue. Once under the overpass between the NYS Museum and the Empire State Plaza, take a left through the doors to the Empire State Plaza Concourse. Proceed down the stairs and take an immediate left. We are located in the corner behind the sculpture, and directly above the Plaza’s South Parking level.

From the East:
Same as above, except you will proceed up Madison Avenue, and take a right into the Empire State Plaza Concourse.

From Downtown State Buildings:
From State Street, on the North end of the Empire State Plaza, proceed into the Capitol, L.O.B. or one of the Agency Buildings. Go down one level to the Empire State Plaza Concourse. Travel all the way through the North Concourse to the South Concourse, and continue walking to the end. When you see the stairs that lead up to Madison Avenue at the end of the Concourse, proceed directly to the right of the stairs. We are located in the last door along the right-hand wall.

Outdoor Directions:
From State Street, proceed to walk from the North end of the Empire State Plaza to the South. Once at the far side of the Plaza, walk down the stairs to Madison Avenue. Turn towards the overpass and go through the doors underneath it. Proceed down the stairs and make an immediate left. We are located in the corner behind the sculpture.

From the South:
Proceed North to Madison Avenue. Once there, determine if the Empire State Plaza is to the East or the West. Follow the directions listed above as is appropriate.
