About New York Network

The New York Network has been a service of The State University of New York since 1967, and is currently a function of SUNY’s Office of University Relations.

Our all-digital Broadcast Center in Albany’s Empire State Plaza is one of the most advanced in the nation, and provides high quality television production and transmission services to SUNY, state/government agencies, the educational arm of the private sector, as well as worldwide media.

NYN’s state-of-the art production facility and professional staff is second to none, and offers a variety of field and studio services, including the creation and production of “Live” interactive videoconferences, stand-alone instructional videos, as well as DVD authoring.

Governor PatersonProviding live coverage of major events in Albany is another NYN trademark, and through the use of our satellite teleport has made Gubernatorial Inaugurals, State of the State addresses, and the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Observance, available to the people of New York State. This transmission capacity also provides the major television networks with a worldwide electronic gateway for their coverage of Albany.

NYN also delivers educational programming into over a half-million homes in New York State.  Aptly named, The New York Network, the NYN cable service features instructional programs for educators, students, and parents including the very popular Regents Review Live!
